When fever strikes
It’s the worst feeling in the world when your child gets a fever, they get so hot and bothered and it’s difficult to find out what is wrong. Asking Calum what’s wrong is like monkey puzzle, is your tummy sore? Are your ears sore? Is your throat, wait, is your neck sore? His reply to everything when he’s feeling sick is “Yes”, and all he wants to do is sit on your lap cuddle. What’s worse for me when fever strikes, is when the thermometer doesn’t give a proper reading. I want to chuck it against a wall and scream. This latest fever issue has happened a day before my big boy’s birthday party. After trying to medicate the fever into breaking last night with no success, it was off to the doctor this morning (with screaming toddler who is scared of the doctor since his last visit for stitches). It took bribery of ice-cream and sweeties, as well as a promise to kick the doctor if he hurts Calum at all. Luckily the doctor played along and we got checked out. Calum has Tonsillitis AGAIN L…. We have started a course of Anti-biotics and will hopefully be right as rain for our big Dinosaur party tomorrow. Cheers vir Eers |
