Long overdue
Last week I attended the
launch of the Pampers Premium Care Size 0 nappy range. We were treated to drinks
and high tea at the Marion Hotel. The perfect setting for the launch.
Key points that were made:
·
Pampers Premium Size 0 are the “Perfect”
nappy for new arrivals
·
They have a wetness indicator that
allows moms to know the exact time they should change a wet nappy,
this encourages much needed sleep, less unnecessary changing and saves nappies (Read money)
this encourages much needed sleep, less unnecessary changing and saves nappies (Read money)
·
The fact that you are alerted to when to
change babies nappy, will allow the tiny baby not to lose heat through the
wetness, this allows baby to regulate their body temp more easily, since we know
babies struggle to regulate their temps.
·
The nappies are smooth as silk, which is
good for the sensitive skin in premature babies.
·
They also provide the right kind of
pressure for the babies skin.
·
All of the above will assist baby, to
grow and develop and get home quicker.
Interesting facts from Dr
Welma Lubbe:
·
10 – 15 % of babies born in SA are
premature (Born before 37 weeks)
·
C-sections seem to be the number one
cause of this… Hmmmm??? (All 3 mine were c-section babies)
·
Babies weighing < 2.5kg = low
birthweight
·
Babies weighing < 1.5kg = very low
birthweight
·
Babies weighing < 1.0kg = extreme low
birthweight
Tips from Sister
Lillian:
·
Tips for caring for premies:
o
Skin on Skin
o
Safe co-sleeping
o
Baby massage
o
Baby play.
Pampers also let slip that they will be making a donation of these Size 0 nappies to the Government hospitals
in Gauteng – Well done pampers!!!
I’ve already seen them on the
shelves at Baby City, they are super
reasonably priced at R 69.99 for 30. A bargain if you ask anyone who has had
to spend money on other Premie nappy brands averaging R 200 per week for a
baby.
In my opinion, these nappies are wonderful, having had 3 little baby bums I would have used them for at least the first month with my newborns. It would have saved having to put nappy liners inside the nappy to make them fit better, and basically wrapping the nappy all the way around to keep it closed.
My only question is what took you so long Pampers???
Cheers vir Eers
